Using Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard/AMEX)

Fatbag accepts all major credit cards (both Korean and Foreign) via Paypal and Moneybookers.

Membership with Paypal or Moneybookers is not required. Once you choose one of the credit card payment methods during check-out, you will be redirected to the Paypal or Moneybookers' secure websites for processing payment. You can simply enter your credit card information, and give it a few seconds for your payment to be verified.

Bank Wire Transfer

A) Cash Wire Transfer with No Bank Account

You can visit a local bank and get assistant from the teller. In this case, you don't have to have a bank account or a check card - you can just use cash. The bank may charge you a fee (around KRW1000) for the service unless you visit the same banks as the one Fatbag uses ( Shinhan Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, Korea Exchange Bank(KEB) ). 

B) Using Check Card on a nearby ATM machine

You can visit a local ATM machine to wire-transfer the fund. Most (if not all) ATM machines have English menu, and it allows one to type in the recipient bank name, account number, and the amount. In most cases, you must use a check card. Some convenience stores have ATM machines too. However, many of them are the ones operated by 3rd-party financial companies rather than major commercial banks (e.g. Shinhan, KEB, SC Cheil, etc.). Only the ATMs run by major commercial banks allow one to do wire-transfers. 

C) Online Banking Wire Transfer

You can wire-transfer funds online at your bank's website. This has quite a bit of learning curve if you have not done it before. Due to the strict regulation in Korea, it requires you to have security tokens issued by the government/banks, and also requires you to install several Microsoft Active-X components on your Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, only Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer can be used for online banking in Korea. Due to the extreme complexity, we have never seen a foreigner do online bank-wire successfully without any help from a Korean friend. 

We would recommend using the option (A) above if you wish to use cash, and option (B) if you are not familiar with online banking in Korea.
